"Preventing or reducing allergy symptoms during the spring is entirely possible"

Allergy season can have your children huddling inside the house during the nice weather but that’s no way to celebrate the arrival of spring. Leading pediatrician and mother of two, Dr. Tanya Remer Altmann, offers help to prevent and reduce seasonal allergies with these savvy tips and strategies:

  • During peak pollen season, plan indoor activities with your children at home. Or, you can also head to a museum, library or indoor play area.
  • Keep your car and home windows closed to help keep airborne pollens away.
  • Runny noses can become sore very quickly, so use a lotioned tissue like Puffs Plus with Lotion. Additionally, teach your children to blow correctly by visualizing blowing out a candle through their noses with their mouths closed which will help them to blow gently.

“Preventing or reducing allergy symptoms during the spring is entirely possible,” said Dr. Tanya Altmann, UCLA-trained pediatrician and mom. “Avoid your child’s allergy triggers and talk to your pediatrician about your child’s symptoms and treatment options. Then, you and your children can enjoy the spring.”

Additionally, Dr. Altmann also recommends placing a High Efficiency Particulate Arrestor (HEPA) air filter in your child’s bedroom to help them sleep more comfortably at night, especially if they have been diagnosed with specific allergies.

Puffs tissues are available at select stores across the U.S. and at multiple eRetailers year-round.
